A Chittagong court yesterday ordered to take Abdul Mannan Mana (40), who was arrested on Saturday, to two-day remand for his alleged involvement with double murder at a shrine in the city. Nurul Islam, younger brother of victim Abdul Quader, filed a murder case accusing unnamed persons with Bayezid police station on Saturday night, said SI Sayed Faruk Ahmed of Bayezid police station, also the Investigation Officer (IO) of the case. “We sought ten-day remand prayer for the sake of investigation as he had land dispute with Lengta Fakir while the court granted two-day remand for interrogating, added SI Faruk. A ‘Saint’ Rahmatullah alias Lengta Fakir (55) and Abdul Quader (30), an associate of Rahmatullah and the custodian of a local shrine named ‘Lengta Mamur Mazar’ in Banglabazar area were hacked to death by unidentified assailants at around 2pm on Friday.
