The Jagannath University (JnU) authority has expelled a student of the university for beating up another student.
At a syndicate meeting of JnU on the campus the authorities expelled Siyam Ahmed, a student of sociology department of 2016-17 session, yesterday.
University sources said an altercation ensued between Siyam and Ariful Islam, a student of public administration department, at a canteen of the university on April 12. At one stage Siyam beat Ariful, leaving him injured.
On the other hand, the university authority has cancelled the admission of Maruf Hassan John, a student of history department of the university, for involvement in admission test forgery in 2017-18 academic session.
