HP, ‘A Team’ camps outside Dhaka: Naimur

The practice camp of the High Performance Unit and ‘A team’ will be set up outside of the Dhaka to force the cricketers fully concentrate on cricket.

Normally National Cricket Academy in Dhaka is the place where the cricketers who are selected for the HP team or ‘A team’ practice. But due to be in Dhaka, HP chairman Naimur Rahman Durjoy believes, the players couldn’t fully concentrate on cricket as they have some family responsibility and others problem.

“If we can set up practice camp outside Dhaka, the cricket could only concentrate on cricket. In other countries, what I saw is that the cricket camp is always set up outside of the city,” Naimur.

“They practice for a full week and get a day off and come back in the city to meet their family. In this case, they can concentrate on cricket only, being not distracted by other problems.”

Naimur, the first Test captain of Bangladesh, said that he had already talked to the board about this issue.

“We have some academies and facilities outside in Dhaka such as in Chittagong, BKSP, Sylhet. I think we can set up camp there in future. We can arrange workshop or discussion meeting there, in which, foreign players or ex-player from our country could attend to increase the junior players knowledge on cricket.”
