Despite reports of load-shedding from different districts over the past couple of days, Power Secretary Ahmad Kaikaus yesterday claimed there was no load-shedding in the country within the span of 15-20 days.
“The country has not experienced any load shedding for the last 15/20 days but people of some areas faced disruptions due to technical glitches,” he said.
The secretary was briefing reporters yesterday informing them the new record of power generation that stood at 10,137MW on the night of April 24 (Tuesday). Before that, the record power generation was 10,084MW on March 19.
The secretary said the country is pacing towards achieving 100 per cent coverage across the country and that the government is issuing 3,50,000 connections every month, as power demands keep rising.
