Twenty-one young political leaders affiliated with Bangladesh Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party were awarded certificates yesterday for working to solve local issues under a fellowship programme of Democracy International (DI), a US-based NGO that works globally in partnership with USAID, the State Department and the Uk's DFID, reports UNB.
Organizing a graduation ceremony for their "Young Political Leaders" fellowship programme at a city hotel, DI awarded the young leaders who have completed their fellowship programme under the Strengthening Political Landscape (SPL) Project in Bangladesh funded by USAID and UKAID.
DI started its 10th batch of the fellowship programme on December 18 last with 11 leaders from AL and 10 leaders from BNP.
DI Chief of Party Katie Croak said, the leaders have been inspiration and role model in political sector for playing positive roles through the programme.
