A Dhaka court yesterday sent Hummam Quader Chowdhury, son of death row convict war criminal and BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury, to jail in connection with a case filed with Gulshan police in 2008. Dhanmondi police produced him before the CMM court yesterday and after a hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate Meher Nigar Suchana passed the order. The court also fixed Sunday to hear his bail plea. Hummam was arrested from Dhanmondi area in the capital yesterday morning. Earlier, a Dhaka court issued arrest warrant against him in an attempt to murder case filed with the Gulshan Police Station in the capital in 2008.
