Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)- 7 arrested a RMG businessman named Enamul Haque over allegation of financing militant organisation Shahid Hamza brigade. The businessman was arrested from Tongi area at around at 2:30 pm yesterday. Director of RAB-7 Lieutenant Colonel Miftah Uddin confirmed to The Independent the arrest of Enamul Haque. RAB sources said Enamul Haque has admitted that he had deposited Tk 16 lakh in an account of an organiser of Shahid Hamza brigade in August in 2014. He was arrested after confirmation of his financing to the militant group, said sources. Earlier on August 18, RAB arrested three Supreme Court lawyers from Dhanmondi area of Dhaka on charge of financing militant organisation Shaheed Hamza Brigade. The arrestees are Barrister Shakila Farzana, daughter of former BNP whip Syed Wahidul Alam, and her two assistants Advocate Liton and Advocate Papon. RAB sources claimed that the three had funded Tk 10 million to ‘Shaheed Hamza Brigade’ for procuring weapons.
