The closing and certificate distribution ceremony of a three day-long training programme on ‘Advanced LINUX System / Network Administration’ was held at UGC auditorium yesterday, says a press release. Bangladesh Research and Education Network of UGC organised the professional training programme for 25 Network Engineers of different public and private universities.
Professor Abdul Mannna, chairman, UGC graced the function as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the participants. Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain, Member, UGC, presided over it. Ajit Kumar Debnath, Senior Procurement Officer (Joint Secretary), Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) was present as the special guest. AKM Habibur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, BdREN, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Professor Mannan, in his speech, said that the main objective of this training programme is to enhance the quality at tertiary education of the country. The training programme was arranged to familiarise the young people with the new generation of IT. He said “We have to invent and use new technology for working in an effective and efficient way.”
