The police deployed for the security of the BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan residence ‘Firoza’ has been withdrawn yesterday, claimed chairperson’s media wing officer Shamsuddin Didar. The police deployed in front of Khaleda’s residence have been withdrawn at about 3:00pm, he said.
A four-member police team led by ASI Md Zafar was discharging duties to ensure security of the Khaleda’s Gulshan residence for a long, Didar added.
When contacted, Officer in-Charge of Gulshan Police Station Abu Bakar Siddique said he was unaware of police security withdrawal from in front of the Khaleda’s residence. “I do not oversee it. It is under jurisdiction of protection,” added the OC.
