Freshers reception held at JnU
The freshers reception and farewell programme-2018 of the Geography and Environment Department of Jagannath University (JnU) was held at the university central auditorium yesterday, says a press release. The department welcomed the 13th batch and bid farewell to the 6th and 7th batch in this programme. JnU Vice-chancellor Prof Mizanur Rahman was the chief guest of the ceremony while Treasurer Prof Md Selim Bhuiyan and Life Earth Sciences Dean Prof Kazi Saifuddin were the special guests. Prof Mallik Akram, chairperson of the department, presided over the ceremony. A colorful cultural function was staged at the end of the ceremony.
Seminar on green chemistry and green engineering held
CHATTOGRAM: A seminar on Green Chemistry and Green Engineering was held at the seminar room of Southern University of Bangladesh (SUB) in the city recently. The seminar was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering of the university where Prof M Ali Ashraf, chairman of the Civil Engineering Department and also Pro-VC of the university, presided over the seminar. Dr Tasnima Jannat, assistant professor of the department, presented the keynote paper of the seminar where teachers and students of the department were present. In the seminar, Dr Tasnima presented a research-based discussion with power point presentation on Green Chemistry and Green Engineering subjects.
Dr Tasnima Jannat said green chemistry and green engineering are the universally acclaimed words of two new scientific and engineering philosophies that are environmentally friendly chemical processes in science and technology.
