Jamaat leader, Shibir man arrested

Police in separate drives arrested a Jamaat leader and a Shibir activist along with country made light gun (LG) and two rounds of bullet from Satkania upazila of Chittagong early yesterday. The arrestees were identified as Rezaul Karim (56), ameer of Charti union unit of Jamaat-e-Islami under Satkania upazila, also incumbent chairman of Charti union parishad and Sazzad Hossain Sazu (23), an activist of Shibir of Alinagar unit under Satkania upazila. Acting on tip-off, police arrested Rezaul Karim from his house at west Durduri area in Charti union under Satkania upazila and Sazzad was arrested from Alinagar area in Satkania upazila, said Khandaker Farid Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Satkania police station.
