2 held for torturing maid, her daughter

SYLHET: Police arrested two expatriates from Mazumdari area in the city on Sunday night for torturing their domestic help and her daughter, reports UNB. The arrestees were identified as United Kingdom expatriates Kabir Ahmed Khokon, 42, and Shakir Ahmed Munna, 43, sons of Abdul Nur of the area. The duo tide their domestic help Parvin Begum with a tree as well as her daughter, a class seven student, with an electric pole around 10pm for allegedly stealing gold jewellery, said Mosharraf Hossain, officer-in-charge of Airport Police Station.

 Being informed by locals, police rescued the victims and sent them to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment. Later, police arrested Kabir and Shakir after victim Parvin filed a case with the police station, the OC added.
