AL forms nat’l polls conducting committee

Awami League (AL) has formed its national election conducting committee, headed by party President Sheikh Hasina, ahead of the next parliamentary polls likely to be held in December next, reports UNB. AL President Sheikh Hasina has been nominated as 'chairman' of the committee, while AL advisory council member HT Imam as co-chairman and AL general secretary Obaidul Quader as its member secretary, said an AL release yesterday.

Members of AL advisory council and AL central working committee, presidents and secretaries of its associate bodies are the executive members of the 'National Election Conducting Committee'.

The formation of the committee is almost similar to that Awami League formed in 2013 to conduct the party’s polls preparations the next year.  Sheikh Hasina was the chief of that committee as well while HT Imam and Mashiur Rahman had been made co-chairmen of the body.
