RU students vandalise dining room

A group of students of Latif Hall of Rajshahi University (RU) vandalised different furniture including dining hall basins and tables and locked the main entrance of hall demading reformation of hall management. The students vandalised these furniture around 1.30 pm following an alteration with dining official and later, they blocked main entrance of the hall. They also submitted memorandum to hall provost with presence of university proctor at the provost office. To bring the situation under control, hall provost and proctor rushed to the spot and consoled them by giving assurance of reformation hall management.

Their demands are: reformation of dining management and serving good food in clean environment with minimum rate, arrangement of reading room on the hall, developing wifi connection, reconstruction of wash room, tube well, installation of loudspeaker at hall mosque and reconstruction of ablution room for devotees, suspension of hall officials who misbehaved with students, set up sufficient instruments at game room and installation of dustbin box on the hall.

Rafiul Islam, one of the demonstrators said, “We are facing so many irregularities in the hall. And even hall provost came to hall a day in a week for an hour”.

'I know few students who were allotted by office before six to ten months but till today they did not get seat for mismanagement’,  he added.

Professor Dr Bipul Kumar Biswas, hall provost said, “Students submitted a memorandum over different allegations. I would try my best to solve the problems as soon as possible”. He said allegation against him falls and fabricated.

University proctor Professor Dr Luthfor Rahman said, students submitted a memorandum with few logical demands. we would try our best to solve it with taking with top officials of the campus.
