The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yetserday set June 17 for submitting formal charge in the crimes against humanity case against five accused from Jashore, reports UNB. Justice Md Shahinur Islam, chairman of the three-member panel of the ICT-1, set the date after accepting a time plea from the prosecution.
“The investigation agency on April 10 released its report on probe against the five accused including Siddikur Rahman Gazi alias Siddik. They have brought six charges including murder, rape and confinement against them,” said prosecutor Rezia Sultana Chaman.
The prosecutor refrained from revealing the names of other four accused as they are still at large. The investigation agency launched its probe on August 23, 2016, and finished on April 10, 2018. They have made 33 people as prosecution witnesses in the case.
