Disaster Management and Relief Secretary Md Shah Kamal yesterday directed officials concerned of 13 districts to launch massive awareness campaign to face natural disasters in the current year, reports BSS. He made the directive through a video conference at the ministry's conference room here, said an official release yesterday.
The Disaster Management and Relief Secretary laid emphasis on creating massive awareness among the people to minimize loss of lives and property due to different disaster events.
He also instructed the District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Upazila Project Implementation Officers to complete all the project activities being operated under the test relief (TR), food for works (FFW), solar panel and employment generation programme for the poorest (EGPP) within April 30.
The secretary asked the district and upazila disaster management committee to hold meeting and ensure all-out preparation to face natural disasters.
The view-exchange meeting was held with the district officials of Gopalganj, Chuadanga, Jalakhati, Bhola, Bogra, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Dinajpur, Narail, Naogaon, Sirajganj and Comilla.
