Japanese Marubeni Corporation yesterday expressed its interest to set up a Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium (NPK) fertiliser factory in the country, reports BSS.
This was disclosed by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the South-West Asian region of the Marubeni Corporation Naoki Izumi when he called on Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at the latter's office, said a press release.
Amu welcomed the Marubeni Corporation and said if the Marubeni Corporation gives specific proposal for setting up factory, it will be considered.
"If the proposal in favour of the country's interest, it will be implemented," he added.
Naoki Izumi said Marubeni Corporation will provide all sorts of support to Bangladesh for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
