BCB to name NCL players� list next week: Akram

BCB tournament committee chairman Akram Khan yesterday said that the final list of players for the upcoming edition of the National Cricket League (NCL) will be named after September 13.  
“We have called a meeting. We will sit with the selectors and officials of the participating teams on September 13, in where we will actually discuss all the issues,” said Akram Khan.
“We have meanwhile prepared a 30-member squad for each team after consulting with the officials of the district sports association (DSA). Thereafter, we have sent it to selectors, who will announce the final squad on September 13,” Akram told The Independent at Shuhrawardi Indoor Stadium.
The forthcoming edition of the NCL, which will be run by two-tier system, will formally get underway from September 18 at four different venues across the country. Only one round game of the league will be held before the Eid vacation.
“We have kept just one round game prior to the Eid vacation, where the bulk of the national players will play ahead of their next home series against Australia,” the tournament committee chairman points out.
Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra, Shaheed Kamaruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi, Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna and Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah will host the first round of games.
“We have prepared the schedule for the first round games, which will be held in Bogra, Rajshahi, Khulna and Fatullah (Narayanganj),” former skipper added.
