Bangladesh tasted their first defeat when they lost to Pakistan by 20-run in the D/L method in the rain-interrupted second day’s match of the ICRC International T20 Tournament for People with Physically Disabilities at BKSP Ground-4 yesterday.
The home side put on 112 for all-out in 19.3 overs. As soon as Pakistan in their pursuits scored 48-1 in six overs, the heavy showers made its inroad in the match. At that phase, Pakistan were announced to be the winners by Duck Lewis method.
After winning the toss Bangladesh decided to bat and lost all the wickets at the cost of 112 runs when they had three balls in hands. Amin Uddin struck the highest 33 for the local side. Drupam Patranabish Tirtho (22), Suzaul Islam (16) and skipper Alam Khan (11) were the other notable scorers of the local side.
Fayaz Ahmed was the wrecker-in-chief of Pakistan, who snared four wickets for 11 in his four-over quota. He took three wickets in an over, which was the 18th over of the match. Later he was adjudged man of the match.
Chasing the 113-run target to win, Pakistan made 48 for one in six overs. At that moment, the heavy downpour made onslaught in the match. Thereafter, it was not possible to resume the proceedings.
At this stage of the game, Pakistan won the match by 20 runs applying D/L method. Drupam Patranabish Tirtho took the solitary wicket for Bangladesh when he sent back Matloob Qureshi in the second over of the game. Matloob, who slammed first century in disabled cricket, chipped in with seven. Skipper Hasnain Alam remained unbeaten on 39 off 27 with eight boundaries.
