Fatema Amin, mother of BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, died at a city hospital yesterday noon. She was 92, reports UNB.
Fatema who had long been suffering from various old age complications, breathed her last at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital around 12 noon, said BNP chairpersons media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
She is survived by three sons, four daughters and a host of relatives to mourn her death. On March 1, Fatema Amin was admitted to Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital in the city following her illness.
BNP standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, vice chairman M Shahjahan, and other party leaders visited the hospital soon after her death and consoled Fakhrul and his family members.
Fatima's body will be taken to her home district Thakurgaon today where her second and final janaza will be held in Thakurgaon High School field after Asr prayers.
