The seventh Hunting God Festival

The seventh Hunting God Festival was recently held in Jiuxiang Township in central Yunnan’s Yiliang County. There, Yi people danced an ancient dance to pay tribute to their Hunting God. According to historical records, the Hunting God Festival has been celebrated for hundreds of years. During the festival, the local Yi people held solemn ceremonies to worship the Hunting God, the God of Fire and the Mizhi totem. They also pray for a good harvest, good fortune and good health in the coming year.
