Abahani off to Guwahati to play in AFC Cup

Abahani Limited left Dhaka yesterday morning for Guwahati, India to play their third match of the AFC Cup against the hosts Aizawl FC tomorrow.

Abahani Limited suffered defeats in their previous two matches when they went down to New Radiant Club of Maldives and JSW Bengaluru of India.

Abahani, the Bangladesh champions conceded solitary goal defeat at the hands of Maldives champions New Radiant at home ground and by same margin defeat to Bengaluru at away ground.

However, it is the last opportunity for Abahani to make comeback to fight for the second round as they are now second bottom sides in the Group E when Aizawl FC are at the bottom as both the sides suffered defeats in their  previous matches.

But Abahani are ahead of the Indian side in goal difference when they (Abahani) conceded two goals in as many matches but Aizawl conceded six goals in two matches, though they scored two.

Abahani will take on Aizawl at home ground on April 25.
