The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested an official of the land ministry in connection with a corruption case filed against him. An ACC team arrested Kutub Uddin Ahmed from Segunbagicha in Dhaka, around 1:30pm, in a case filed against him with the Gulshan Police Station, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told The Independent.
ACC deputy-director Mirza Zahidul Alam led the team which made the arrest. According to the case statement, Kutub Uddin, administrative officer of the land ministry, allotted a 10-katha plot in Gulshan in the names of some of his relatives, including his father-in-law, using fake documents.
Apart from the case, many graft allegations against Kutub Uddin are now being investigated by the ACC, sources said.
