Bangladesh began their Commonwealth Games mission with disappointing result when swimmer Mahamudun Nobi Nahid was eliminated from the hit yesterday in Gold Coast, Australia.
Mahamudun Nobi, who is the best swimmer in the country finished his event 50 meters Butterfly 38th out of 54 swimmers, clocking 26:56 seconds. Mahamudun Nobi Nahid clocked his best time in 2016 in the 28th National Swimming Champions with finishing right on 26:00 seconds.
Meanwhile, in the 50 meters Butterfly, South African swimmer Chadle Clos moved into the semifinal with the best time 23:56 seconds.
Mahamudun Nobi will compete in the 100 meters Butterfly on 8th April when Ariful Islam will compete in the 100 meter Breaststroke today and 50 meters on April 8 and Nazma Khatun’s event 50 meters freestyle will be held today.
Bangladesh boxers will return home with a disgraceful experienced when boxers Mohammed Robin Meah and Mohammad Al Amin could not take part in the competition due to fault of the coach Abdul Manna who did not attend in the meeting of technical committee before the meet, which is mandatory.
