Int’l confce on Liberation War at RU today
Rajshahi : A two-day international conference on the Liberation War will begin at Rajshahi University (RU) today.
Bangla Gabeshana Sangsad, an associate research-related orgnaisation of RU Bangla department will arrange the conference titled "Liberation war of Bangladesh: Achievement in art, literature and culture sectors" at the university senate building.
The programme is being arranged as a part of their celebration of the golden jubilee of the liberation war, said department Professor Mizanur Rahman Khan, also secretary of the organization, at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Around two hundred and fifty researchers, academicians, teachers and students from home and abroad will participate in the conference. He said poet Zulfikar Matin will inaugurate the two-day conference in front of Shahidullah Arts Building in the campus at 9am on Friday. Later, an inaugural ceremony will be held at the university senate building. RU Vice-chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan will address the ceremony as chief guest while RU Pro Vice-chancellor Professor Ananda Kumar Saha and Bangla department chair Professor PM Shafiqul Islam will address the ceremony as special guests with the Sangsad's President Professor Khandaker Forhad Hossain in the chair.
A total of seven sessions will be held during the conference while a total of sixteen articles will be presented, Professor Mizanur Rahman Khan also said.
‘HR Career Adda 2018’ held at DIU
Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) of Daffodil International University (DIU) in association with Career Development Center (CDC) and DIU HR Club jointly organised the event on ‘HR Career Adda 2018’ on Sunday at 71 Milonayaton of the university. Prof Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, vice-chancellor of DIU, was the chief guest. Musharrof Hossain, president of Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BSHRM) and FBHRO was the keynote speaker. The programme was presided over by Prof Farid A Sobhani, dean of HRDI, DIU.
The main objective of the carnival was to have an interaction between the HR professionals and university academics, students and graduates concerning HR issues. A total of 150 registered participants including a good number of HR practitioners had attended the programme. Musharrof Hossain delivered the speech on ‘Career in HR, Develop Your Future’.
A large number of HR professionals and distinguished guests were present in the programme and shared their experiences and opinions in front of the participants.
‘Fresher’s Debate Contest-2018’ ends at RU
A 17-day debate competition titled 'Rajshahi University Fresher’s Debate Championship-2018' was concluded at the Shaheed Smrity Sangrahsala square on the campus on Sunday evening.
Debate organisation Group of Liberal Debtors (GOLD) Bangladesh organised the contest that started on March 14 participating with 50 teams of fresher’s students of different department of the university.
On Saturday evening after the concluding session of the debate adjudicators declared Genetic Engineering and Bio-Technology Department (Opposition Party) as champion with Fahmida Begum as best speaker of the final.
Prof Shariful Islam of Information Science and Library Management Department, Farzana Rahman and Dr Aminul Islam were adjudicators.
Later, Prof Sadequl Arefin Matin, chairperson of Social Work department, distributed the crest and certificates among the debaters.
