CHATTOGRAM: A Chattogram court yesterday sentenced three persons to death for killing a schoolboy six years back, reports BSS.
The 7th court of Chittagong Additional District and Sessions Judge Ferdouse Ara pronounced the verdict convicting Rajib Roy alias Raju, Bijoy
Bhattacharia alias Kanu and Mohammad Abdus Salam alias Belal.
The court also acquitted Reazaul Karim Khokan. The prosecution story is, in brief, the convicted persons abducted Mohammad Azam, a student of class eight in a local school from Roazarhat area under Rangunia upazila of the district, on August 13, 2012. Victim's mother Asma Akter filed a case with Rangunia thana on August 27, 2012.
According to the confession by Rajib Roy, police recovered the body of Azam after digging soil of the residence of Bijoy at Guzara village under the upazila on September 12, 2012.
Police submitted charge sheet accusing four persons on May 26, 2013.
The court pronounced the judgment after examining 24 out of 30 prosecution witnesses.
