Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu said the country has to face four challenges: of militancy, gender inequality, sustainable development and poverty elimination. The minister said education without patriotism can be dangerous.
“After the rise of the developed countries it is now the opportunities for others to join their ranks and engineers have to play a critical role in this process,” he said. Inu said this while speaking at a meeting at the Stamford University premises at Siddheshwari in the capital organised by the university to celebrate the accreditation of its civil engineering faculty by the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh. He said “the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is doing that exactly. Under her leadership we are creating an environment-friendly and digital Bangladesh.” Congratulating the Stamford University for getting the accreditation, he said, “Now the challenge for you is to attain expertise that not only builds but is also green and sustainable.”
