India gifts 55 rare films

BSS

India has given 55 rare films and documentaries to Bangladesh Film Achieves as gifts, reports BSS. The films were given during the recent visit of Information Secretary Martuza Ahmed and Bangladesh Film Achieve Director General Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Hossain to Indian National Film Achieve, said an official release yesterday. The gifted films include the subcontinent’s first silent complete movie ‘Raja Harishchandra’ of 1913, ‘Jamaibabu’ of 1931 and ‘Nine Months to Freedom’ on Bangladesh’s liberation war. Besides, 11 documentaries on Mahatma Gandhi and documentaries on Pundit Rabisankar, Ostad Amzad Ali Khan and Pundit Hariprashad Chourashia are among the gifts.
