State-run Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd received 18,364.72 euro as the first installment under a clean development mechanism (CDM) project for reducing green house gas emission, says a press release.
This is the first and only CDM project of Danish NE Climate A/S registered with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on March 17, 2015.
The project aimed at reducing natural gas leakage in the distribution network of Titas through implementation of advanced leak detection and repairs (LDAR) procedures.
The amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction under the project would be 4.38 million tonne carbon dioxide per year, the statement added.
