Narayanganj: A minor drowned during performing the Astami Snan, one of the biggest rituals in Hindu religion, on Sunday morning in Narayanganj, locals said, reports BSS. Shuvo Chandra Das, aged 8 was a student of class 3. Son of Dulal Chandra Das, Shuvo hailed from Dorinapur village under Niamatpur Upazila of Naogaon district. Family sources said Shuvo went to bathe in the Brahmaputra river along with his uncle Sagor Chandra Das on the day. Officer-in-Charge of Bandar Thana AKM Shahin Mondol said Shuvo drowned at around 6:30 am at Kali Ghat in Langolband area of the old Brahmaputra river while performing Astami Snan.
