Rahman Jahangir, the editorial consultant of the Financial Express, passed away early Monday. He was 69, reports UNB. Jahangir, the founding news editor of The Independent and former joint news editor of The Daily Star, breathed his last at Labaid Hospital in the capital around 5 am.
His namaj-e-janaza was held after Zohr prayers at the National Press Club premises. He was a permanent member of the National Press Club. Rahman Jahangir is survived by his wife, three children, and a host of relatives and admirers. JPC President Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman and general secretary Farida Yasmin expressed profound shock at his death.
In the condolence messages, they prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
