Abul Mansur Ahmad�s birth anniv today
Today is the 117th birth anniversary of Abul Mansur Ahmad, a renowned litterateur, journalist and statesman.
Marking the occasion, Abul Mansur Ahmad Smrity Parishad will organise a daylong programme at Bangla Academy in the capital at 10am tomorrow, says a press release.
On the occasion, some books of Ahmad will be re-launched while a book on the litterateur will also be published. Eminent writers, journalists and educationists will grace the programme divided in three sessions.
Mansur was the provincial education minister in the United Front cabinet under Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq in 1954 and central commerce and industries minister in the Awami League government of Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy in 1957.
