International Federation of Medical Students’ Association (IFMSA) Bangladesh, a non-profit and non-political organisation led by medical students, recently arranged a two-day quiz event, called ‘Game of Brains: Inter Medical Medi-quiz Carnival’, at Dhaka Medical College. The main aim of the event was to add a different dimension to the current practice of learning by introducing questions that demand critical thinking, rather than memorising.
More than 200 students participated in the carnival, where Dhaka Medical College was the winner of Group-A, while Sir Salimullah Medical College topped Group-B. IFMSA Bangladesh president Syeda Fatema Alam, secretary general Aminul Kibriya, national officer on medical education Moomtahina Fatima, and assistant national officers on medical education Badhan Halder, Jubair Bin Mesbah and Sajibur Rahman thanked the local committee of Dhaka Medical College for their tremendous support. They also pledged to arrange more such events.
Dr ABM Abdullah, chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, emphasised on sharpening the young brains for establishing a better future. Dr Fatema Ashraf and Dr Humayun Kabir Talukder were present at the closing ceremony. The event was sponsored by Renata Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
