A case has been filed with Gulshan Police Station over the murder of a Garo woman and her daughter in the capital’s Kalachandpur area.
The deceased were identified as Besnat Moni Chiran, 65, and her daughter Sujata Chiran, 40, of the Garo community and inhabitants of Haluaghat in Mymensingh. Police recovered their bodies from the 4th floor of a multi-storey building in the area around 11pm on Tuesday.
Abu Bakar, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station, told the independent that Sujata Chiran’s husband Ashish Mankin filed the case with Gulshan Police Station yesterday.
Sujata was hacked to death while Besnat Moni was strangled, the OC said.
Being informed, police on Tuesday night recovered the bodies of the two Garo women from their house. The law enforcers first saw the body of Sujata in a pool of blood on a bed. They suspect she was hacked to death. While searching the room, the police officials found Sujata’s mother’s body under the bed.
