Rahi �makes confession�

One of the two siblings arrested in connection with the killing of blogger Ananta Bijoy Das reportedly made confession before a Sylhet court yesterday, reports UNB.
Judge Anwarul Karim of Metropolitan Magistrate Court-3 recorded the statement of Mannan Rahi under Section 164, said court Inspector Nazibul Islam.
Earlier on August 28, members of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police arrested Rahi and his brother Mohaimin Noman, 26, from East Faljur village in Kanaighat upazila.
Tipped off, a CID team launched a drive at their house village and arrested the two brothers, sons of Mainuddin of the village.
On the same day, they were put on a seven-day remand in connection with the blogger killing.
Police said Rahi, also a student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), used to post writings on his facebook account against bloggers and his brother Noman used to run several facebook accounts. Police arrested another suspect in connection with the blogger killing.
A team of CID arrested Abul Khayer from Tukerbazar on the suburbs of the city in the early hours. Blogger Ananta was hacked to death by a group of assailants in broad daylight at Subidbazar Bankalapara in the city on May 12.
