A Bangladeshi team from the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), University of Dhaka, consisting of three students and a faculty advisor, bagged the first prize in the prestigious World Asian Case Competition 2015, organized by the Academy for Asian Business (AAB) and Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, South Korea, says a press release.
Battling over 40 teams from across the world, the FBS team comprising of Shadman Haque, Mohi Uddin Bhuiyan, and Suvro Emmanuel Rozario, under the mentoring and guidance of the faculty advisor Md. Saimum Hossain, became the Champions. They created and presented a case study on the South Korean electronics giant LG, and proposed a detailed and well crafted strategy for penetrating Bangladesh’s 30 million bottom-of-the-pyramid (BOP) population to help ensure dual bottom line: Regaining LG’s market share and better living standard of the BOP people.
Apart from the first prize, the advisor Md. Saimum Hossain won the Best Advisor Award for his outstanding advice to lead the team to success.
