Two held for defaming Bangabandhu

Police arrested a ward councillor and a former mayor of Bandarban municipality yesterday on charge of making derogatory comments about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the social networking site facebook, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as Mizanur Rahman Biplab, a former mayor of Bandarban municipality and Habibur Rahman Khokon, councillor of ward-8.
A police team arrested Mizanur Rahman from in front of District Judges Court around 3:30 am.
After interrogation, police raided the house of Habibur Rahman and arrested him from his Member Para residence in the town.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Rakibullah said Mizanur Rahman and Habibur Rahman had long been making derogatory comments against Bangabandhu through using fake ID, ‘Tungipara’, on the facebook.
Besides, police seized the computer which was used for this act from a shop, ‘Ekata Printers’, in the town.
