Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy arranged an 11-day event titled ‘Bangabandhu Cultural Festival’ on its premises to celebrate the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his birth anniversary.
Beginning from March 7, the festival came to an end yesterday, marking the 98th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On the concluding day, children did painting on a 2,500 square feet canvas, rendering portraits of Bangabandhu. The event also featured clown show, puppet show, film screening, acrobatic show, award ceremony for winners in several competitions, and Khandakar Sumaiya Akter’s speech on historic March 7.
Besides, students of Ali Ahmed rendered a chorus rendition of ‘Dhono Dhanye Pushpe Bhora’, students of Maniknagar Model High School rendered ‘A Mati Noy Jongibader’, while SOS Shishu Polli performed a group dance, child artistes Shejuti, Shoma and Nitu rendered solo songs at the event.
The programme concluded through the screening of children-based film ‘Ankhi O Tar Bondhura’ directed by Morshedul Islam.
Art competition, dance performance, recitation, competition on historic March 7 speech, song rendition, theatre and more events were held during the festival.
