Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced Tk. 1 crore remuneration of team Bangladesh after they moved into the final of Nidahas Trophy Tri-nation T20 tournament, beating hosts Sri Lanka by two wickets in a bad-tempered match.
The board president Nazmul Hassan Papon announced the amount of the cash award in Colombo yesterday and also revealed that bigger bonus is awaiting them if they can clinch the trophy by defeating India in today’s final.
“I think it’s a big achievement for us and we have already declared bonus for them. At the same time it has also been told to the players that it is still not over, we have a bigger game ahead of us and if we can play well and win (the next game) the bonus will be bigger,” Papon told the reporters in Colombo.
Papon said whoever was involved in breaking the glassed door of the dressing room will not be spared.
“The Sri Lanka board has communicated with our CEO regarding the dressing room. I have also seen that a lot of broken glasses in the Bangladesh dressing room. But we are yet to know the details of how is has happened and who has done it. We will definitely find it and I think our players have done that. It is surely unacceptable,” he said.
The glassed door of the Bangladesh dressing room was shattered during the wild celebration at the R Premadasa, where aggressive bodily contact, shoving, agitated yelling, pointed fingers all marred the finish an absorbing game of cricket.
The shattered door was likely the doing of somebody inside the Bangladesh dressing room. An outward-facing camera caught a number of Bangladesh players racing down the steps in front of their dressing room as bits of glass were strewn on the stairs, the door probably having been shattered in those moments.
The BCB chief also said that the relation with the Lankan board will not be stained in the aspect of the ‘no ball’ issue which sparked the verbal clash between the players of the two teams.
