Man held with 90 tortoises

Magura: Police arrested a man along with 90 tortoises from a bus near Ramnagar police camp in the district headquarters on Friday afternoon, reports UNB.

The arrestee was identified as Lutfor Rahman, 35, son of Shomser Ali of Keshabpur upazila of Jessore district.

Officer-in-Charge of Magura Police Station Ilias Hossain said police arrested Lutfor while he was taking the tortoises to Khulna on the roof of a bus for smuggling those to India.

A case was filed in this connection. The seized tortoises were released in Gorai river in Magura.
