56 commit suicide in Jhenidah in 2 months

Jhenidah: A total of 56 people committed suicide in six upazilasin the district in the last two months, reports UNB. According to the monthly meeting on law and order at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Sunday, 56 people of the districtkilled themselves in January and February, said Jahidul Islam, executive director of Society for Voluntary Association.

Of them, 17 people took their lives in Sadarupazila while 14 in Shailakupa, five in Harinakunda, 10 in Kaliganj, five in Kotchandpur and four in Moheshpur.

In the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Md Jakir Hossain urged all to create awareness among the people in the society in a bid to prevent suicidal incidents.
