Panic has gripped members of four minority families at Awliapur village of Patuakhali Sadar upazila after a BNP leader and his associates have threatened them to leave their homes in three days time.
Finding no way out, the victim families has submitted a written complaint to Patuakhali police superintendent about the matter.
According to the allegation, on August 21, BNP leader of Awliapur union Abu Zafar and his three associates beat Biranga Shil.
The BNP leader used filthy language against the minority families and warned them of dire consequences if they do not comply with the demand. The leader also said that the minority families have no right to live in Bangladesh.

When we protested his activities, he and his associates beat Biranga Shil and asked us to leave our native village within three days.”
Additional police super Foyez Ahmed along a police team visited the spot.
When contacted, Abu Zafar, the BNP leader, denied the allegation saying:
“I have damaged the planted Aman paddy of Biranga Shil because he uprooted paddy on my 24 decimals of land.”
Replying to another question he said: “I will face the court.”
