Child missing from Bogra rescued in Barisal

A male child who went missing from Bogra six months back were rescued and handed over to his family by police in Hospital Road area of Barisal city on Tuesday noon.
The victim was identified as Talha, 4, son of Sajedur Rahman Saju, a part time worker in Bogra  municipality, and Sheuli Begum.
Shakhawat Hossain, officer-in- charge of Kotwali police station, said Talha had gone missing from his home at Chalk Agaster in ward no. 20 of Bogra  municipality area on February 10, 2015.
A general diary was lodged with Bogra police station in this connection.
Later an unknown person later left Talha in front of Café Ammajan in Hospital Road area of Barisal city on February 13.  Farid Hossain, owner of the café, rescued him. Farid informed the matter to Kotwali police that day.
After reporting the incident to Kotwali police station, Mahmuda Begum, wife of Farid Hossain, was given the responsibility to bring up the child after registering a general diary as he was a minor aged child. The child was renamed as Shahin by the couple.
On other hand, after investing the general diary, Bogra  police recently arrested Helal alias Lachan, son of Nurul Islam of Banaripara upazila in Barisal, from Bogra  town on suspicion of abducting a child in another case and interrogated him during a 10-day remand.
During interrogation, Lalchan admitted that he had picked up the child, brought him to Barisal and later left him at Café Ammajan in Barisal city.
Bogura police informed that to the parents of missing Talha. Then the parents of Talha rushed to Barisal on Monday and contacted police. The child was handed over to them maintaining legal formalities on Tuesday noon through victim support centre, the Barisal police sources said.
Sub-inspector Sekandar of Bogra  Sadar police station said investigation into the abduction case is going on against minor aged accused Lal Chan and action would be taken as per law.
