39 foreigners held for bid to enter Ukhia camps

Police yesterday detained 39 foreign nationals from near the Shaheed Minar area in Ukhia upazila as they allegedly tried to enter the Rohingya camps without valid documents, reports UNB. The foreigners were detained from 8 am to 11 am and later they were freed on bond around 2:30 pm, said officer-in-charge of Ukhia Police Station Abul Khayer. The detainees started working at the Rohingya camps without any work permit and other valid documents, he said. They hail from different countries, including Malaysia, Canada, Switzerland, Netherlands and Italy, he added.
