On the eve of International Women’s Day, an award-winning short film titled ‘Pounopunik’ (The Hamster Wheel Rebellion) was released on YouTube yesterday. The short film is produced by Idea Exchange, while the screenplay of the film is written by Khandaker Sumon, who also directed the film. The film is based on the short story of Kingshuk Bhattacharya. ‘Pounopunik’ is not a story of the winners rather it is the story of those losers who lose to the hypocrisy of the society despite being courageous. The society is ruthless and inexcusable for those who try to lead a respectable life by erasing their dark past. In spite of that, some people dream and fight. Maybe they will lose but they will surely leave behind inspiration for others to fight and win. The central character of the film is played by Aynun Putul. ‘Pounopunik’ can be watched on the YouTube channel of BongoBD.
