A three-day Bangladesh-Japan joint photography exhibition on disaster risk reduction begins yesterday with a view to increase awareness among youth and urban people on disaster preparedness, said a DNCC release. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) M Meshbahul Islam inaugurated the photography exhibition at Gulshan Youth Club auditorium at 9.30am.
The DNCC, Seeds-Asia, a Japanese non-government community based disaster management organisation, and Gulshan Youth Club jointly organised the photography exhibition ahead of the National Disaster Preparedness Day tomorrow.
The photography exhibition however is the first community-based exhibition which was held for the first time at the art gallery of Biswa Sahitya Kendra during 9-11 February.
A total of 50 photographs based-on the city areas of the country are being displayed in the exhibition.
