Eminent writer Dr Muhammed Zafar Iqbal, who has been undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital after suffering serious injuries in a knife attack, was shifted to a cabin from the ICU yesterday, reports UNB.
"Dr Zafar Iqbal was taken to the cabin at noon as his physical condition improved," said Assistant Director of Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) Directorate Rezaul Karim.
However, doctors are yet to decide about his discharge from the hospital, he added.
Prof Zafar Iqbal came under attack at the Mukta Mancha of Shahjajal University of Science and Technology (SUST) during a celebration programme, 'Robofight,' of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department on March 4.
The renowned writer was first taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital soon after the incident.
Later, he was airlifted to the CMH in Dhaka on the same day ot the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
