The posts of different government jobs, which remain vacant for not getting eligible candidates from quota, will be filled from merit lists, reports UNB.
The government issued a notification in this regard relaxing its previous system of preserving the vacant posts. The decision came amid countrywide protests by job seekers demanding reform of the quota system in public service. In all the recruitment processes when posts under quota fall vacant that will be filled from merit lists, the notification added.
As per previous rules, if eligible candidates are not found for filling the posts under quota, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) keeps those vacant.
