Kasba Police Station under Brahmanbaria district, on Tuesday night, temporarily suspended six police members including two Sub-Inspectors with the charges of selling recovered cannabis.
The suspended police personnel are Sub-Inspector Shyamal Majumder, Monir Hossain, Assistant Sub-Inspector Faruk and Salahuddin, constable Shahjahan and Abul Quashem.
The Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kasba Police Station, Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed admitting the fact said that all the six police personnel were initially found guilty that they sold around 100 kilograms of cannabis out of 140 kilograms which they recovered in the morning.
The police team recovered a huge quantity of hidden cannabis inside two private cars from T. Ali crossing point of upazila Sadar on Tuesday morning, said the OC, adding
that they deposited only 40 Kg which raised the suspicion.
Later, a team of DB police went to the spot and recovered remaining 100 Kg in an abandoned state from there, said the OC. Additional Police Super Iqbal Hossain was assigned to investigate the matter, mentioned Mohiuddin.
