President M Abdul Hamid will leave here for India today on a four-day visit to attend the founding ceremony of International Solar Alliance (ISA) in New Delhi, reports BSS.
"A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, carrying the President and his entourage members, will leave Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport for Guwahati of Assam at about 1 pm today," President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told yesterday.
The President will be received by Governor of Assam Jagdish Mukhi at Guwahati Interna-tional Airport at about 1:30pm (local time). He will stay at Viavanta by Taj in Assam where the Assam Governor Jagdish and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal are scheduled to pay a courtesy call on him. The governor of Assam will host a dinner at Radisson in honour of President Abdul Hamid.
On Friday morning, the President will leave Guwahati for Balat by a helicopter of Indian Air Force. He is scheduled to visit Tagore's residence in Shilong and Labon in the afternoon. President Hamid will visit various places of the Indian state of Meghalaya, where he stayed for days during the 1971 Liberation War.
He is scheduled to return home on March 12.
